/description San José based multi-instrumentalist William Johnston has spent years honing his skills by lending his talent to acts across the Bay Area. But now, he's finally "doing the solo artist thing" and we are glad he is. We were invited out to see him perform live with his "Extravagant Superband" at the San José Jazz Break Room and knew right then and there that we needed to arrange a live studio session. A leap into a maximalist big band sound, his SJZ Break Room performance demonstrated the expansive scale of his musical compositions. All of that lead us to aim for an ode to the glamorous aesthetics of Soul Train for this set!
